Pitch Your Next Film Project at NOFF!
Have an idea for your next great film? Tell us about it in Pitch Perfect Open Call at this year’s New Orleans Film Festival!
Launched in 2014, Pitch Perfect Open Call is an opportunity for Southern-based filmmakers to get feedback as they sell industry judges on their next project. Mastering the art of the pitch is crucial for any filmmaker and this competition will provide you with tools to do that. Previous pitch judges have included Philipp Engelhorn (Cinereach), Dan Schoenbrun (Kickstarter), and Debra Zimmerman (Executive Director, Women Make Movies). Besides invaluable feedback, the winner will receive a Movie Magic Premiere Bundle, which includes budgeting and scheduling software, a Conference Flex Pass for the 2017 NAB Show, and a cash prize to work on the film.
This year, NOFF will host two separate Open Call pitch events, one for documentary films and one for narratives. To have a chance to hone your pitch at the New Orleans Film Festival, record a one-minute mini-pitch video (it doesn’t have to be fancy- you can use your phone) and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief bio. From those applicants, a limited number will be invited to present an expanded three- minute pitch in front of industry professionals on Thursday, October 13.
All finalists will be paired with a pitch mentor for a brief pitch session to help practice your pitch in advance of festival. Additionally, all finalists will receive an All Access Pass to NOFF.
