NOFF Named to List of Top Film Festivals
The New Orleans Film Festival has been named to MovieMaker Magazine’s annual list of the “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee.” For the past several years, the publication has compiled a list of festivals based on criteria such as travel compensation, value of prizes, acceptance/submissions ratio, alumni relations, networking and press opportunities, quality of panels, workshops, and parties.
This is the New Orleans Film Festival’s fifth consecutive year making the list, one of only two festivals named to the list for as many years.
In writing about NOFF’s inclusion, the magazine pointed to NOFF’s “robust line-up, of which 90 percent is curated from submissions,” the festival’s focus on diversity amongst filmmakers, and the festival’s newly created Industry Exchange which is designed to connect filmmakers to visiting film professionals.
“It is incredibly rewarding to garner this attention for the New Orleans Film Festival. We could not be more proud to have MovieMaker’s endorsement for the fifth year running,” said Jolene Pender, Executive Director of the New Orleans Film Society.
The New Orleans Film Festival is currently accepting film submissions for this year’s edition; the final deadline for filmmakers to submit films is June 15, 2016.
